steadily into a commercial district. Mattapan was part of Dorchester until
1870. Mattapan is a vital, small, and community oriented neighborhood
of Boston.

Mattapan is a diverse community mainly dominated by African American,
Latino, Irish, Italian and Asian descent. Recently, immigrants from
Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Europe, Haiti, Ecuador, Panama, and South
