Chelsea Overview
If you are looking for a safe area with West Side energy, Chelsea is the neighborhood for you. Centered in between arguably the hippest areas of New York (the West Village, SoHo, Union Square and Hell's Kitchen), Chelsea is one of the most sought after Manhattan areas for the cosmically hip. Chelsea is also home of the Chelsea Piers sports complex, Manhattan's largest and most extensive public indoor sporting facility.

Chelsea Residents & Culture
The restaurants, shops, art galleries, bars and trendy night clubs buzz Chelsea's main avenues day and night. However, away from the action Chelsea is made up of many quiet tree-lined streets.  Residents here are an eclectic mix of people, however, the hip, action packed Chelsea culture tends to attract more young professionals, artists and members of the gay community.

Chelsea Residences & Rents
Chelsea's residences consist predominately of renovated 19th century brownstones and Loft buildings which were converted from warehouses and meat lockers. The new construction and renovations have enhanced Chelsea's living spaces but rents for these residences run high.  To get into Chelsea, cheaper rents can be found in the less renovated brownstones, but these residences are not plentiful or luxurious.

Chelsea Transportation & Commuting
With 9 different Subway lines within its borders, Chelsea is one of the most accessible areas in New York. The main lines for this area are C, E and 1, 9.  Seventh and Eighth avenues are the above ground arteries of this area. Chelsea also has the added convenience of proximity to both the Lincoln and Holland Tunnels, making traveling to New Jersey very accessible.
