Douglaston is suburban in nature, with single family homes, low-rise apartment buildings and garden complexes.  Douglaston is surrounded by the Long Island Sound on 3 sides providing a scenic setting for residents.  Douglaston has many outdoor parks, golf courses, and protected wetlands.  Most shopping area is located on Northern Boulevard and along the Long Island Expressway.  Living in Douglaston’s gets you the best of both worlds, as it has a short 25 minutes commute to Manhattan, and the beautiful scenery of the Long Island Sound.

Douglaston Residents & Culture
Douglaston residents mostly immigrated from Europe.  Douglaston has a secluded area which was once a private club called the Douglaston Manor, this area is filled with large and exclusive homes. Douglaston is an upper middle class suburb of New York, and in the mid 90’s it was one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in the borough.
