Oakland Gardens Overview
Oakland Gardens was named after a farm called the oaks. Later, this farm became the well known golf course in Oakland Gardens. The Oakland Golf Club, was one of the oldest golf course in the north east, and the club was known for being extremely exclusive and hard to become a member. Later the exclusive club was purchased by the city with the intention of building housing  for the nearby colleges and universities.

Oakland Gardens Residents & Culture
Oakland Gardens was originally settled by eastern European immigrants. Today, this area is home to many visitors and students who attend the school and colleges located here.

Oakland Gardens mostly consist of low rise and garden complexes, with a few single and multi family homes. General rents in the area include studios from $700-$900, one bedrooms from $850-$1050, or two bedrooms from $1200-$1350.
