Queens Village Overview
Queens Village was one of the oldest settlements on Long Island, this area was originally called Little Plains.  Later they changed the name to "Queens" because of the county the area was located in.  After realizing that this would cause tons of confusion, because of the borough name they added the word "village".  Queens Village is home to many ethnic groups and is made up of one and two family homes. Most of the shopping areas are located along Jamaica, Hillside and Braddock avenues.
